On December 4, 2021, at about 11:27 pm, Sparks Police, Sparks Fire, and REMSA paramedics responded to G St. at El Rancho Drive on the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash. After arriving on scene, officers located a female laying in the roadway. The female sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. Officers also located a second male victim that had been struck by the same vehicle.  The male victim was up and walking when officers arrived. Both victims were transported to a local hospital to be treated.  The female victim is in critical condition and the male sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Through the officers' investigation and interviews with witnesses, officers learned the driver of the vehicle had been travelling westbound on G St. continuing through the intersection of El Rancho Dr.  on a green traffic light.  The pedestrians, who were in a crosswalk on the west side of the intersection were walking northbound from the south side of the street. The driver of the vehicle struck the pedestrians in the crosswalk and fled the scene.  The vehicle was last seen continuing westbound on G St. from El Rancho.  The vehicle is described as an older model gray 4 door vehicle.  The vehicle should have front end damage from the crash.

Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded to the scene and took over the investigation, which remains active.
